Surveys

Survey editor

A reference for survey fields, categories, questions, and options.

Documentation sections

The editor is needed to configure any survey: created manually, via AI generation, or from a template. A template survey already has its structure filled out, but it can be adapted to the organization's context. Edits change the created survey, not the original template.

Basic data

In the side panel, you edit the name, short description, and respondent type. The name and description help you and participants understand the context of the survey. The respondent type is needed by the AI as a hint: an employee, student, community member, or custom option requires different language and different emphasis in interpretation.

Changes in basic data are saved when you leave the field or click the Save button. If a field is highlighted with an error, correct the text and save again.

Categories

A category groups questions of one semantic block: for example, "Team", "Processes", or "Leadership". Click Add category to create the first block. The category name can be renamed right in the card.

Categories can be collapsed, deleted, and reordered. On a wide screen, the order is changed by dragging, on a phone — by arrows. If a category is deleted, all questions inside it are also deleted.

Questions

Inside a category, click Add question. The question editor will open:

  • Question text — the text the participant will see.
  • Keywords — guidelines for subsequent analysis.
  • Answer type — scale or list; both types have 5 answers.
  • Answer options — fixed scale labels.
  • Follow-up question — an optional follow-up for the selected option.
  • Intention — what management hypothesis the question tests.
  • AI instruction — what signals to look for in answers and comments.

Question edits are applied only after clicking the Save question button. If you close the window with unsaved edits, the editor will offer to continue editing or discard the changes.

AI question draft

The Generate question button creates one question inside the selected category. You can briefly describe what exactly you want to know, or click Skip description — then the AI relies on the category context.

The AI draft is inserted as a regular question: check the formulation, answer options, intention, and instruction, then click Save question. This operation consumes organization tokens; if AI features are unavailable, the editor will show an error.

Before launching

Before launching or sending the link, check that the survey has clear categories, saved questions, and correct answer options. Publishing requires a minimum of 3 questions, and a survey that is too long is harder for the team to complete, so keep the structure short.

If the survey is still a draft, return to the survey card and click Launch survey. A survey from a template is usually already launched: you can copy its public link immediately. After launching, the structure remains part of the open measurement, so it must be changed carefully: participants will answer what is currently published.
