Survey templates

A template is not a survey that has already been launched; it's a ready-made foundation for one. Inside, categories, questions, answer options, and analysis topics are pre-assembled. When you select a template, the platform copies this structure into a new survey, opens the first measurement, and provides a link for participants.

Templates are useful where repeatability matters: the first launch is faster, and subsequent measurements are easier to compare because the team responds to the same well-thought-out structure. If you manually change the survey structure after creation, that becomes your version of the template, and you need to compare it taking these edits into account.

Types of templates

System templates are available to all organizations. They are maintained by the platform: they cover standard diagnostic tasks, such as a team pulse, onboarding, or process health. Such a template is convenient to use when you need a reliable start without designing a survey yourself.

Organization templates are only visible within your organization, if configured. They are suitable for local research that you want to repeat in your context: with familiar wording, your own structure, and topics important specifically for this team or company.

Templates from other organizations are not shown and are not used. They cannot be selected from a list or opened via a direct link.

What is included in a template

In the template card, you can check the composition of the future survey before creating it:

• categories and questions in the order participants will see them;
• answer options for questions;
• approximate completion time;
• analysis topics, by which the platform then links answers to growth points and recommendations.

The template card is for reading, not for editing the template itself. If the structure is suitable at least as a starting point, create a survey from the template, and then refine the created survey in the editor if necessary. Edits affect only this survey, not the original template.

If the template does not fit at all and you need to build a structure without a ready-made foundation, create a custom survey from scratch or via an AI draft.

How updates work

A survey created from a template receives a copy of the structure. After that, it lives independently: you can edit it like a regular survey, and its answers, measurements, and results do not depend on future changes to the original template.

If the template is updated, the new structure applies only to subsequent surveys created from it after the update. Already launched and completed surveys are not reassembled, collected answers do not change, and past measurements remain comparable to the structure to which people actually responded.

If you need the fresh template structure, create a new survey from the current version of the template. The old survey remains part of the diagnostic history.
